Microfluidics Makes An Impressive Return to AAPS PharmSci

After a three-year absence, Microfluidics International Corporation made a long-awaited return to the Show floor at AAPS PharmSci in Boston, MA (October 16 – 19).

Our experienced Sales Team was on-hand in the Exhibit Hall to enthusiastically greet, and answer questions posed by visitors to our booth.

What Is AAPS?

Founded in 1986, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) is a professional, scientific organization of approximately 7,000 individual members and over 10,000 actively participating stakeholders employed in academia, industry, government, and other pharmaceutical science-related research institutes worldwide. Their vision is advancing the pharmaceutical sciences to drive prevention and cures.

Who Attends AAPS:

AAPS brings together pharmaceutical scientists from around the world to share research and exchange ideas in their ongoing efforts to improve global health.

What Microfluidics Had On Exhibit

M110P Microfluidizer

M110P-transparent

Exhibiting in Booth No.: 531, Microfluidics International Corporation showcased their M110P Microfluidizer® processor. As a “plug & play” electric benchtop homogenizer, the M110P provides continuous high-shear fluid processing at lab-scale volumes.

The M110P is a premium laboratory model that is simple-to-use. Utilizing the Microfluidics' fixed-geometry Interaction ChamberTM technology and a ceramic (Zirconia) plunger, the M110P is capable of successfully processing a wide variety of fluids, including oil-in-water emulsions, solids-in-liquid suspensions and performing cell disruption of yeasts and plant cells — much of which is performed with as few as one or two passes.

How It Works

The M110P is powered by a standard 20-amp single-phase electrical outlet. The onboard 1.5 kW (2 HP) electric-hydraulic drive powers a single-acting intensifier pump. Process pressures are adjustable up to 2068 bar (30,000 psi) to produce the desired product results. No need for compressed air or hydraulic cooling water.

This versatile laboratory homogenizer conveniently fits under most standard laboratory chemical hoods. The lab-scale M110P delivers a repeatable process with results that are guaranteed to scale up to pilot and production volumes.

A Perspective From The Front Line

Peter Sokol, Regional Sales Manager - had this to say about our return to AAPS:

“It was great to once again, attend the AAPS Show in Boston, in October. We exhibited our M110P Benchtop Laboratory Microfluidizer, discussed innovative applications with new customers, and reconnected with existing Microfluidics users in the biopharmaceutical world. Customer engagement and booth traffic in our corner booth location throughout the two Show days was excellent. Based on our experience at this year’s Event, we look forward to an equally positive experience at AAPS in Orlando, in 2023!"
