Microfluidizer® Technology for
Polysaccharides
Polysaccharides are being used more frequently in pharmaceutical applications. Thanks to their varied molecular structures and functional properties, they are applied as plasma expanders, carriers for water‑insoluble drugs, formulation aids, immune stimulators and vaccine antigens.
A key advantage is that polysaccharide backbones are typically biocompatible and biodegradable, so they are naturally broken down by the body into their basic building blocks.
This paper looks at two case studies that study conjugated polysaccharides.
